Rules & Regulations

General Rules:

  • The International Association of Amateur Boxers (IVA) governs all amateur boxing activities under its jurisdiction.
  • All members, including boxers, clubs, referees, trainers, and officials, must comply with IVA’s rules and regulations.
  • Membership is open to all amateur boxers, clubs, and boxing enthusiasts, subject to approval by the IVA.

Membership Rules:

Boxers:

  • Must register through the official IVA registration form.
  • Provide accurate personal and boxing-related information during registration.
  • Submit required documents, including ID proof and medical fitness certificates.

Clubs:

  • Clubs must register and maintain an active membership status.
  • Provide valid registration certificates and proof of affiliation.

Officials (Referees, Trainers, Judges):

  • Must undergo mandatory certification training from IVA.
  • Maintain impartiality and professionalism in all events.

Code of Conduct:

  • Members must uphold the principles of sportsmanship, discipline, and respect for others.
  • Offensive language, discriminatory behavior, and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
  • All participants must adhere to the schedule and guidelines provided for events.

Boxing Rules:

  • Weight Categories:

    • Boxers must compete in their designated weight class based on IVA guidelines.
    • Weight checks will be conducted before matches.

     

  • Protective Gear:

    • Mandatory use of headgear, gloves, mouthguards, and groin protectors during matches.
    • Equipment must meet IVA-approved standards.

     

  • Match Duration:

    • Matches will consist of 3 rounds, each lasting 3 minutes, with 1-minute intervals.
    • The duration may vary for junior or novice categories.

     

  • Scoring:

    • Matches will be scored based on punches landed, defense, and overall performance.
    • Judges’ decisions are final.

Event Participation:

  • Clubs, boxers, and officials must register for events by the specified deadlines.

  •  Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and other expenses unless otherwise stated.

  • Participants failing to appear for scheduled events without prior notice may face penalties.
